Importance Of Sleep

Remember when we were kids and we hated going to bed and taking naps? We always used to fight our parents over it and we would find ways of playing quietly in the dark hoping not to get caught. Now that we are adults we welcome sleep and wish that we had the time to take those much needed naps.

Sometimes we need to make the time. Many people believe that taking naps and sleeping a lot is a bad thing because it makes us weak and tired all the time. Sleep is actually one of the most important ways to help us lose weight and to maintain it.

When we sleep our bodies produce a hormone called Leptin. Leptin has two important jobs. It tells our body when we have eating enough and it gives us more energy throughout the day.
The less we sleep, the less Leptin our bodies will produce and the more hungry and tired we will be throughout the day. So remember that even though you may not be able to get that much desired nap in you can always get those eight hours of sleep before you have to wake up and start your day.
