Finding The Right Snacks

We all know by now that eating snacks is not always a bad thing. It only matters what you are eating for a snack and how much you eat. Remember that it isn't a meal so you only what to have something that is small and that is just enough to take the edge off.

Fruits like bananas and apples, and oranges make for a nice, healthy snack. They have all the nutrients and vitamins that a body needs and they are the perfect amount to fill you up.

Vegetables like carrots and celery are another good snack to consider. Eating them along is never fun so you can always find a low fat dip that would be great to dip them in.

While fruits and veggies can be good we sometimes wish there was a snack out there that would be more to our liking. Sometimes we crave for something salty - but are afraid that any chips or crackers we buy would be bad for our diet. Here are a few snacks that taste great and will still work with your diet.

  • 1. Low Fat Kettle Crisps (110 calories, 1.5 grams fat, 0 g saturated fat, and 2 grams fiber per 1 ounce.)
  • 2. Baked Tostitos (110 calories, 1 gram fat, 0 g saturated fat, and 2 grams fiber per 1 ounce.)
  • 3. Reduced Fat Triscuits (120 calories, 3 grams fat, 0 g saturated fat, and 3 grams fiber per 1 ounce)
  • 4. Padrinos Reduced Fat Tortilla Chips (130 calories, 4 grams fat, 0.5 grams saturated fat, and 1 gram fiber per ounce.)

Even though these foods are low in calorie and are good for your diet you still have to be careful when you eat them. You want to eat them in moderation and remember to only eat them or any snack when you are hungry. Don't let boredom and frustration fool you into thinking that you are hungry.
