The Dairy food group is referred to any food material that consists of milk and also retains certain amount of calcium in the ingredient. The dairy products include the food such as the cheese, pudding, ice cream, and yogurt. The food products such as the butter, cheese and also the cream are sometimes classified as the dairy food but they do not retain the calcium an so they are considered as fats.

The best source of the dairy products in the diet is to take lots of milk, which is nutritious in every aspect. These products help the body function in the optimum levels so that the entire body system remains under normal conditions. The dairy diet helps the young adults to regulate their body and prepare them from an old age free from the major diseases such as the osteoporosis, which is wrong believed to be the concern for the elderly people only. The adequate amount of calcium instead has to be taken from the very early days of life which can only be obtained from the dairy products.

The dairy products are the main source of calcium and this is the sole reason why it is required in the adequate quantity in the daily diet of an individual. The dairy diet not only helps prevent the various old age diseases related to the lack of calcium but also facilitates the building up of the bones, teeth and also the various functions of the heart and blood like the blood clotting system which requires the levels of calcium.

The major dairy products that are advisable to be included in the diet are the milk, cheese, spinach, broccoli, tofu, salmons, and sardines which are less known than others.
