The Easy Way To Stop Carb Cravings

Carbohydrate cravings are cravings foods that are high in sugar or starch, including candy and junk food.  Here are some easy ways to get rid of your cravings for carbs.

1. Don’t skip meals. If you go for a long time without eating, your blood sugar levels will drop. This will cause you to crave high carb products.

2. Don’t eat sweets or candy on an empty stomach. Eating sweets or candy when your stomach is empty will cause your blood sugar to spike and then drop rapidly.

3. Substitute fresh fruits and vegetables for candy or sweets.

4. Avoid refined sugars and white rice.

5. Avoid alcohol and drinks that contain caffeine. These can also cause your blood sugar to rise rapidly and then fall.

6.  Be sure to eat an adequate amount of protein.  Eating protein will help to keep your blood sugar on an even keel.

7. Get plenty of sleep. Being tired can increase your cravings for carbs.
