Atkins' diet is one of the special diet forms which are used to lower down the weight on the basis of a theory of Atkins. The basic concept of the Atkins' diet is to take a diet which is very low or completely lacks the essential nutrient the carbohydrate. This theory naturally leads to weight loss through a simple concept. The basic and the prime source of energy for our body are the carbohydrates which are immediately used up whenever the body requires instant energy. This means that the carbohydrates taken in are burned for the required energy. The Atkins' diet proposes a simple solution which involves the intake of protein and fat more than the carbohydrates so that when the body requires the energy; its first and prime source is automatically switched to the fats and proteins. These nutrients are stored as fats and muscles in the body which increase the weight, and when they are used up as the first energy source in the body, the person automatically loses weight. The Atkins' diet is also based on the theory that the overweight people tend to eat a lot of carbohydrates. These carbohydrates reserves do not allow the burning of the other nutrients such as the fats and proteins which basically increase the overall weight. The excessive sugar or the carbohydrates in the body are also stored as fats, which then adds to the already present bulk of the fats reserve in the body. These fats then keep on increasing with even the intake of sugar or carbohydrates. Therefore the Atkins' diet is the one with low carb diet and which hen allows the natural burning of the body fats to decrease the overall weight. |
