When you are on a diet you feel that you have to avoid every restaurant. It's true that eating out is not always healthy for you - but it doesn't mean that you have to avoid it all together. You'll find that if you cut out all the food that you love cold turkey you will have a higher chance of cheating and eventually abandoning your diet. Eating out once in awhile isn't going to hurt as long as you do it wisely. Some restaurants will have a section on the menu specifically for people who are dieting. You can try choosing something off that part of the menu or you can stick with a salad. Now eating at a fast food restaurant isn't always easy. The trick is to stay away from anything that would have a lot of grease - which means no hamburgers and no french fried. Try ordering a salad or a grilled chicken sandwich. On the side you can have a parfait (McDonalds) or even fruit (Wendy's). Also stay away from the soda as much as possible. Try to get water or tea. The best thing to do is to get un-sweetened tea and than to put the sugar in yourself. This helps you to make sure that you are not drinking an excessive amount of sugar. It is possible to be on a diet and to enjoy it. You don't want to be miserable while on your diet - but you don't want to feel guilty when you eat something bad. This helps you to find a balance between both. |
