Water, water everywhere. Yes, our moms are right: our bodies need plenty of water, so drink up. Not only will it flush out toxins, you will also feel fuller. Your body will also become more fit and healthy. Once you feel your body getting healthier, you will be discouraged to binge. Water contains absolutely no calories, so it's a good alternative to sodas.

Go crazy on vegetables: Vegetables are your best bet when it comes to losing pounds. Nature has a terrific spread when it comes to choosing vegetables. And the leafy green vegetables are your best bet. Try to include a salad in you diet always.

Eat your greens. Again, our folks are right. We may have been sent to bed when we were young because we turn our noses up at broccoli, but this is actually one of the best weapons in our arsenal in the battle against the bulge. Nature provides a lot of choices; if broccoli is not your thing, there are a lot leafy greens to choose from. Leafy greens are essential to the diet, try a serving of salad or two each day.

Do an Elvis. Elvis and his pelvis have been a sensation since he learned to rock and roll on the stage, but in terms of weight loss, the King may have nailed it. If you're too conscious, lock yourself in your room and shake those hips. The truth is, your midsection gets the least exercise as compared to your arms and legs. This may explain why the most explicit indicators of excess fat are there. Because of lack of exercise, your midsection is likely to be the last to look thinner. It helps giving that part a little workout.

Be your own superstar. Get involved in high-energy sports like tennis, table tennis, basketball, or football. Not only is it a fun way to lose those pounds, it also promotes camaraderie and friendship among your friends. Perhaps the best thing about sports is that they can become very addicting. Once you show your mettle on the courts, more people will invite you out and you will continue with these activities before you realize it. It can be something to be excited about, and no added stress is placed other than the intensity of the game. When you really get to enjoy your sport, you won't think of it as part of your exercise routines anymore. While burning calories, you'll gain more friends and hone your skills.
